Cycling: Ayrshire CTC head to Millport

AYRSHIRE CTC's next outing is a trip to Millport on Sunday from Cumbrae Slip, Largs, at 11am. Details from www.cycleayrshire.co.uk

This will be the last event of 2009 apart from the Christmas dinner cycle on Sunday, December 13. This takes the form of a 30 mile main ride and a shorter ladies ride from Symington to the dinner venue at Dundonald. Start time is 1pm.

TWO cycling events will take place in Irvine on Sunday, December 20.

One is the annual Christmas cracker team time trial organised by Fullarton Wheelers. Closing date for entries for the 12-mile two up ride is December 13. Club contact is Willie Stephen. Entry fee is £16.

The other is the runners versus bikers challenge race at Irvine beach park. Organised by Irvine Athletic Club, the run starts at 1pm from the sports clubhouse at Marress. Entries are accepted on the day from 12 noon. The fee is £3 but, to extend the Christmas spirit, each participant is invited to bring along a small gift of the same value to be given out from the winners' table.
