The bait pond fished OK for the anglers on the bank where the wind was blowing. Special mention goes to young Dean who had a nice fish of 2lb 8oz.

Coarse pond still quiet with the odd carp still getting caught along with roach and rudd.

COYLE WATER FISHERY (Coylton): the fishery has been fishing very steady over the week.

On the fly pond, the fish are still quite partial to dries and rising to them but the dancers and rabbits are proving the most effective with over 30 fish, Colin Murray releasing nine using a silver version rabbit last Monday.

Although the weather was terrible on Tuesday, Messrs Hitchcock and Du Vivier managed to have a very successful day using various methods, but the yellow dancer and a green and black gold head being the most effective.

M. Hamilton managed six using a diawl bach in terrible conditions while A. Keenan caught two with an orange dancer. Saturday was busy and with someone literally catching four or five in as many casts.

The bait pond has been better than average since the stocking last week. Green powerbait being the most successful. D. Kirkwood took no time at all to take away his four and Mr Barr also managed to take three in a few hours.

Overall, both ponds have been fishing very well considering the conditions and there is optimism for a vast improvement in the next few weeks in preparation for a large stocking.

Winter prices have been reduced with the biggest adjustment being catch and release on the fly pond, £5 for four hours and £8 for eight hours.
