BURNS TROUT FISHERY (Tarbolton): results of the open pairs were: 1. A. King and M. Miller (bait) eight fish for 18lb 1oz; 2. T Strachan and T McCluskie (bait) eight for 14lb 3oz; 3. Kevin Grents and Stevie Fairburn( fly) five for 13lb 10oz. Heaviest fish caught went to Stevie at 5lb 3oz. A total of 66 fish were caught.

Catches: fly pond: D. Rooney, two for 5lb 4oz, Tam Boyle, five for 11lb 6oz, J. Dunlop, two for 4lb 14oz, D. Watson, six for 15lb 10oz, D. Hutchinson, two for 5lb 4oz, R. Devlin, one for 2lb 12oz, T. Izzitt, one for 3lb, T. McFarlane, two for 5lb 2oz, B. Wilson, two for 4lb 8oz, F.razer Galloway, three for 6lb 10oz, Robert McFarlane, four for 10lb 8oz, Kevin Andrews, three for 7lb 14oz, Alec Bowler, two for 5lb 8oz, Hugh Dunlop, four for 9lb 1oz.

Bait pond: Kim Dunnachie, four for 6lb 7oz, C. Bunton, three fish for 5lb 3oz, T. Glover, three fish for 6lb 9oz, A. Dickson, one fish for 2lb, C. McArthur, two for 3lb 14oz, J. Howe, two for 3lb 8oz, C. Scott, one for 2lb 2oz, Andrew McCulloch, four for 8lb 2oz, David Drugan, two for 4lb, Maryanne Goudie, four 7lb 2oz.

COYLE WATER FISHERY (Coylton): Buzzer Bill, over two visits, released 14. Mick released 26 on the orange okey dokey, Jim Tomlinson released well into the 40s on three visits. The killer flies have been cdc, green machine, diawl bach and as ever the infamous blob.

The bait pond has been fishing well with Mr Coyne hitting two fish for 5lbs, Mr Waugh got his limit of three fish for 6½ lbs, Mr Wallace having two for 3½ lbs. Young Katie McDowell got her five fish for 11½ lbs. Power bait, worms and maggots seem to be the killers.

SPRINGWATER FISHERY (Dalrymple): fly pond fishing well. Still good top of the water sport. Best catch Mr Alexander from Glasgow with 15 fish, best estimated at 6lbs, all were returned.

Bait pond fished well. Best method was on the bottom with green power bait. Coarse pond fished well, Jim Anderson had seven carp, eight breem and a lovely 2lb rudd. Best bait sweet corn and pellet. Plenty of silver fish being caught on maggot.

PRESTWICK (Raith Reservoir): a quiet week but no doubt about the quality of fish. Among the returns were Murray Spence six, Lorraine and partner Brian five for 9lbs, Andy Faichney three, Jock Patterson three both using the running worm, Scott Kelly from Glasgow three and G. Lewis three.

Conditions were perfect on Sunday for the junior and senior citizen competition with 58 fish returned. The ‘grumpy old men’ section had Murray Spence in first place with six fish for 14lbs 12oz, second was John Anderson with six for 12lbs 6oz, both on power bait. ‘The young guns’ saw nine-year-old Luke Curruthers take first place with six for 11lbs 4oz on power bait. Second was nine-year-old Adam Gillespie with five for 9lbs 1oz on power bait. Third was Brandon McConnell with three for 5lbs 10oz. Fourth was Joseph Ross with two for 2lbs 06oz. Heaviest fish at 3lbs 09 oz was caught by junior John Gibson on a mepp.

The club thank Wee Jimmy’s for the junior sponsorship. Nobody went away empty handed. The club also thank Andy Faichney and Jock Patterson for their donation to the prizes.
