COYLE WATER FISHERY (Coylton): the fly pond has been fishing well this week. Harry Barclay got his fish and released a further three, Gordon Dunlop got 13 but was beaten by Muncie who romped home with 17 fish. There has been a new stocking policy introduced which means from now on every week there will be a stocking of at least 100 fish in each pond.

The bait pond has also been fishing well with Mr Mcork hitting six fish for 12lbs, Mr Coyle having five for 8lbs. The Jaffa fishing club from Udston had an incredible 17 fish for 34 lbs between the six of them.

Power bait worms and maggots seem to be the killers. All anglers are asked to put their rubbish in the bins provided.

PRESTWICK (Raith Reservoir): some nice bags including Murray Spence eight fish, John Lothian four, W. McIntosh four and Bill Gibson three. Davie Boyd’s fish on its best day did not match son Scott’s four.

There were plenty of single fish returns, among them juniors G. Lewis and J. Alexander and senior citizen Jock Patterson. Nobody quite managed to record weights and method used.

The club thank Jim Gillespie and Neil McGinn for spending Saturday cutting the grass. The banking is like a bowling green.

Preparations are well underway for the second leg of the club’s open competition on Sunday from 8am to 4pm.

Ticket outlets: Gamesport of Ayr, Newall newsagents of Monkton, Ultimate Angling of Girvan, Gibson’s Garage of Dalmellington, Wee Jimmy’s of Bank Street, Irvine, Pets Aquarium of Prestwick and Torbets of Kilmarnock.
