Tenpin Bowling: James is master class

AYR man James Claxton has won the Scottish Masters Tenpin Bowling Championship in Dunfermline.

The top ten ranked bowlers in Scotland competed in an all-day round robin tournament with James beating all nine of his opponents, with an average score over the whole day of 234 pins per game.

James represented Scotland at the 2008 World Championships in Bangkok and now goes on to Greece, where he will be Scotland’s representative at the European Individual Championships in September.

James is head technician at LA Bowl (Ayr). Assistant manager Gary Reeves said: “James has gone from strength to strength as both a player and as a coach and continually strives to improve.

“He is truly a world class competitor and rightly ranked as the number one tenpin bowler in Scotland.”
