Basketball: Troon trio fly flag in France
TROON basketball stars Jordan McIlwraith and Josh Crolley flew the flag for Scotland in a tournament at Cherbourg. Head coach for the Scots was Troon’s Tom Campbell.
The Scots lost narrowly to England and Portugal but beat Tunisia. The Troon lads have been invited to a training camp in Portugal in June ahead of the European championships the following month in Sarajevo.
As a warm-up, the team lost by 20 points to older Ohio college team, Cedarville, despite holding them for most of the game.
On Saturday, Troon line up in two Strathclyde League cup finals at Paisley’s Lagoon Centre. At 1pm, the cadets play Twilight Rocks followed at 3pm by the juniors against Reid Kerr Buddies.
