MARR slipped to third in National Division Three when they lost 22-10 away to GHK who stretched their unbeaten run to three games.
The home side pressed Marr for much of the first half, taking a 16-3 lead with a try and three penalties. Marr's only points came from the boot of Rory McGee.
The second half continued in the same vein with GHK pinning Marr back. The Fullarton lads fought back and were awarded a penalty try after GHK repeatedly infringed. McGee added the conversion.
GHK took control again and kept the scoreboard ticking over with three penalties. Marr had to spend much of the game defending and Andrew Gault in particular tackled well in the second half.
On Saturday, seventh placed Ross High travel to Troon with Marr looking to get back to winning ways. High have picked up four wins so far this season but have not won in the last three weeks.
The game kicks off at midday due to the international being played on the same day.
Training continues on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 7pm and anyone wishing to play is welcome to come along and join in.
