Young stars get Scotland call

UP and coming Ayrshire stars have been named in an initial training squad of 34 announced by Scotland under 18 head coach Grant McKelvey.

The squad follows a review of the players who spent a fortnight in Valladolid, Spain, on a strength, conditioning and rugby camp in July, and those invited to attend the national rugby camp at Struan in August.

Players will be continually assessed before the final selection of the national under-18 squad for the 6 Nations International Festival in Wales next April. Included are Craig Davidson (Ayr), Mark Bennett (Cumnock) and Murray Beckwith (Marr College).
