CARRICK went second top of National West League Division Two with a 23-19 win away to Paisley.
The hosts struck with an unconverted try. Euan McGregor missed two penalties but from the drop out from the second, the ball was kicked to David Lyon who levelled the score. Paisley replied with a converted try but Adam Naylor replied with an unconverted try. Euan McGregor gave Carrick a 13-12 interval lead with a penalty, finally making his fifth kick at goal count.
Paisley opened the second half with a converted try but a Euan McGregor penalty cut the deficit to three points. McGregor had the final two kicks of the game, the first of which was a grubber which Ewan Alexander touched down under the posts. The final whistle sounded after the conversion.
