Ayr Knights win cap calls

A NEWLY formed rugby league team is on the up.

Ayr Knights launched eight months ago but already four of their players have won international honours.

Robert Henry, Jason Slattery, Connor Rennie and Gareth Swailes, all pupils at Ayr Academy, are off to Malta with Scotland under 18s. They will travel with members of the Gateshead Thunder pro team.

The under 18 Knights are set to join the eight team West of Scotland League next month. The team trains at Auchincruive and hopes to expand by forming teams from age eight upwards.
