Carrick rugby club chase promotion

CARRICK need to win all three remaining games and pick up one bonus point to ensure promotion in second place in West League Division 3 Pool 3.

They kept up the heat with a 21-17 win over Hyndland at Scotstoun.

Carrick withstood strong early pressure before Hugh Smith kicked three penalties followed by Gary Thomson breaking from halfway and powering over under the posts. Smith converted.

Hyndland kicked a penalty but trailed 16-3 at the break.

Early in the second half, Eddie Dalrymple Hamilton scored an unconverted try to increase Carrick’s lead. Hyndland hit back with two converted tries to earn a losing bonus point.
