RISING Ayr Seaforth star Scott McNally struck bronze at the UK indoor track and field championships at Birmingham.
The 15-year-old from Prestwick had a personal best 1.81 metres in the under 17 high jump to add to the gold he won last year.
Marr College pupil Scott is last year's Scottish under 15 high jump champion and under 15 UK indoor champion (1m75).
This improvement in performance will boost Scott's chances of winning another Scottish championship at the national under 16 indoor championships at the Kelvin Hall on Sunday.
Fixtures: Saturday: Scottish under 18 and under 20 indoor championships. Sunday: Scottish under 14 and under 16 indoor Championships, all at the Kelvin Hall.
The following Sunday (March 11), Seaforth will have five teams in the Scottish Athletics Indoor Leaguefinal. There is also a separate 4 x 200m relay competition and Seaforth will have teams competing in all age groups from under 11 to under 20.
An exciting day of athletics will bring down the curtain for the indoor season and also for athletics at the Kelvin Hall with a new indoorfacility being built in the east end of Glasgow for the Commonwealth Games in 2014.
