AN all age group Ayr Seaforth team finished a disappointing fifth from eight clubs in the second match in the Central and South of Scotland Athletic League.
Seaforth were hit by lack of numbers in the under 17 and senior age groups, both males and females, at cold and windy Grangemouth.
After two league matches, the club is fourth overall with only one fixture to come on Sunday, July 3 at Scotstoun.

l Three of Ayr Seaforth’s elite under 20 women competed at the highest level on Saturday in the UK Women’s League Division Two at London’s Copthall Track.
Sixteen-year-old Caroline George was second in the ‘A’ string 100 metres in 12.56 secs and rounded off with a season’s best third in the 200 metres ‘A’ race in 25.59 secs.
Seventeen-year-old Rachel Hunter continued her progress in the ‘A’ hammer finishing second with 49metres 56 and first in the ‘B’ shot putt with 11 metres 55 (third overall in shot putt).
Seventeen-year-old Aileen Rennie also gained invaluable experience with a fine fourth in the ‘A’ javelin throwing 36 metres 85.
lFixtures: Friday and Saturday: Scottish Secondary Schools track and field championships at Grangemouth.
Wednesday, June 15: at Dam Park, the second open track and field meeting for all age groups starting at 7pm with a 3000 metres race for seniors and under 17s.
There are also sprints 150m (under 11) and 200m (all other ages), 600m (under 11) and 800m (all other ages), long jump, shot putt, high jump and javelin (all ages except javelin for under 11).
Under 17 athletes and below will be awarded medals for place finishing in first three. The meeting is organised by Ayrshire Harriers Clubs’ Association in conjunction with South Ayrshire Council.
