Ayr Seaforth men are 32nd in Scottish road relay championships

AYR Seaforth men’s team finished 32nd from 56 teams starting the annual Scottish six and four stage road relay championships at Livingston on Sunday.

With three veterans/masters in the team, Peter Laing, Tom McCulloch and Laurence Baker, the balance came from the younger seniors of Neil Burnside, Greg Templeton and Paul Turnbull.

The team recorded a slightly faster time than last year, finishing in 2 hours 52 mins 38 secs.

Results: stage one (3.15 miles): 15. Neil Burnside 17 mins 35 secs; stage two (5.85 miles): 25. Greg Templeton 35.32; stage three (3.15 miles): 30. Peter Laing 20.44; stage four (5.85 miles): 29. Paul Turnbull 38.36; stage five (3.15 miles): 33. Tom McCulloch 22.26; final stage six (5.85 miles): 32. Laurence Baker 37.45.
