Ayr Seaforth runners pound the beat in Alloa Half Marathon

SIX Ayr Seaforth senior road runners took part in Alloa’s annual Half Marathon on Sunday.

Roadrace secretary, 52-year-old Laurence Baker, was the club`s best performer finishing 79th from a field of 950 runners in 1 hour 25 mins 10 secs. Laurence was also second in the over 50s age group.

Other results: 145. Kevin Bloy 1.29.35; 150. Paul Turnbull 1.29.51; 341. Gillian Geates 1.40.03; 354. Ken Robson 1.41.04 (Ken, 60, was eighthin the over 60 age group); 525. John Strachan 1.48.33.

The next road race is on Sunday, April 3 at Livingston for the Scottish Athletics Road Relay Championships when Seaforth senior men will run six stages and Seaforth women four stages.
