Laurence Baker leads home Ayr Seaforth in road race

nLAURENCE BAKER led home a small band of Ayr Seaforth athletes in a five mile road race organised by Irvine AC which drew more than 100 competitors on the night.

Laurence was 25th in 31mins 20 secs. Other placings: 34. Barry Duddy 32.25; 51. Tom McCulloch 34.25; 55. Laura Wallace 35.38; 74. Lynsey Cooper 39.17.

lTHE Ayrshire young athletes team (consisting of athletes U13, U15 and U17 malel and females from Ayr Seaforth, Kilmarnock Harriers and North Ayrshire AC travel to Grangemouth on Sunday to compete in the prestigious Scottish Young Athletes Leaguefinal having qualified after three earlier league competitions.

This promises to be an exciting occasion and if Ayrshire can produce a strong enough team to challenge for first or second they could be heading to Manchester for the UK Young Athletes final.
