THE future of Ayr Seaforth Athletic Club is in good hands – with several emerging new talents.
That was underlined at the annual track and field championships last week when there was an excellent turnout in the younger age groups.
Club champion for senior/junior men is Andrew McElwee with 49 points. Runner-up was Jonathon Dunn with 34. Third was Alan Cherry with 29.
Under 17 men: Aaron Gray 43 points; Jonathon Thompson 40; Andrew Rae 25; Scott Gibson 22; Adam Steven 17; Fraser McKenzie 5.
Under 15 boys: Sam Revie 40 points; Andrew Murphy 32; Angus Arnold 17½; Scott Jones 16; Wallace Graham 15; James Gaffney 12; Angus Johnston 11; Shaun Rennie 9; Ben Johnston 8. Four did not complete five required events.
Under 13 boys: Scott McAnally 40 points; Andrew Black 32; Steven Mexson 30½; Fraser Steele 21; Callum Henderson 15½; James Pettigrew 8; Zac Lynn 4½; Matthews Gowans 2½. Three did not complete five required events.
Under 11 boys: Oliver Smith 25 points; Lewis Ross 24; Callum Walker 24; Euan McIntyre 17; Oliver Barrie 10; Robin Girvan 4; Jonathon Duff 3; Mitchell Lamont 2. Two did not complete five required events.
Senior/junior women: Meghan Logue 49 points.
Under 17 women: Aileen Rennie 38 points; Rachel Hunter 36; Hazel Jamieson 25; Katie Sprang 22; Nicola Dunn 13; Rhona McGregor 12; Lauren Goldie 8.
Under 15 girls: Jemma McSheffery 36 points; Kendal Ross 31; Carolyn Harvey 31; Hannah Westwater 25. Two did not complete five required events.
Under 13 girls: Alison Leckie 38 points; Alice Arnold 35½; Emma Johnston 15; Kirstin Oakley 13; Lisa Rennie 12; Ailie Shanks 12; Katie Vallance 11½; Laura Meader 8; Alison Harvey 6; Khyla Dempsey 2; Charlotte Crossland 1.

Fixtures: on Sunday, a large number of Seaforth young athletes (under 11 to under 17) travel to Pitreavie for the young athletes trophy meeting.
Seaforth hold their club presentation night at the Horizon Hotel, Ayr, on Saturday, November 14.
