More than 200 go on Dam Park run

MORE than 200 athletes took part in the first Ayrshire Harriers Association open track and field meeting at Dam Park.

Ayr Seaforth athletes, fresh from a successful indoor season, showed up well with many excellent results.Athletes came from as far away asLiverpool and Southampton.

Seaforth results: U11 boys (two heats): Jason Evans: 2nd in 80m (13.1), 3rd in 150m (23.9); Harry Mitchell: 3rd in 80m (14.1), 6th in 150m (27.1); Jonathon Duff: 5th in 80m (14.3), 5th in 150m (26.0); Euan McIntyre: 2nd in long jump (3.41).

U13 boys (three heats): Steven Mexson: 1st in 100m (14.7), 1st in 200m (30.4); James Pettigrew: 1st in 75m hurdles, 1st in 100m (15.6), 3rd in 200m (32.2); Matthew Gowans: 2nd in 100m (15.9), 5th in 200m (34.2); Connor Gracie: 3rd in 1500m (5.39.6), 3rd in long jump (3.83); Josh Mitchell: 6th in 200m (34.9), 3rd in 100m (16.9).

U17 men: Johnny Thompson: 3rd in 100m (12.2), 2nd in 200m (24.7); Aaron Gray: 1st in 200m (24.6), 1st in 400m (56.1), 1st in high jump (1.65); Scott Gibson: 5th in 100m (12.6), 4th in 200m (25.6).

Senior and under 20 men: Andrew McElwee: 2nd in 100m (11.9), 1st in 200m (23.8), 1st in 400m (52.4), 1st in long jump (5.46), 1st in high jump (1.65).

U11 girls: Emily McAlpine: 1st in 80m (12.5), 1st in 150m (23.1); Hannah Pettigrew: 5th in 80m (15.0).

Senior women and U20: Norma Bruce: 1st in senior javelin (24.18); Cheryl Gibson: 1st in U20 long jump (4.23).

Fixtures: Seaforth line up in the first match of the Central and South of Scotland League Division One at Grangemouth on Sunday. Team bus leaves Ayr station car park at 9.30am.
