Toni McIntosh runs a capital cracker

SUPER Ayr athlete Toni McIntosh raced to victory in the Sir Chris Hoy Half Marathon on Sunday.

She clocked 1.17.15 at Meadowbank, pipping her nearestchallenger Colette Fagan (Glasgow University) by more than two minutes.

It continued an outstanding season for Toni who finished sixth in the 6000 metres to lead home the Scots in a Home Countries match in Wales.

And she won gold in the first round of the Stewart’s Road Race Grand Prix at Grangemouth. In February, Toni took silver at the national cross country championships at Falkirk.

Toni, 29, said: “I had a couple of years when I seemed to go backwards but hopefully I’m coming back to form.”

On Sunday, Toni will line up in a ten miler at Strathclyde Park. And in May, she will run in the Edinburgh Marathon.
