AYR Seaforth athletes produced excellent individual and team results in the first match of the Scottish indoor league at the Kelvin Hall.
The under 15 boys ‘A’ team were convincing winners. Runners-up places were claimed by the under 17 women’s ‘A’ team and the under 20 women (who had only two athletes).
Other team placings were: U20 men: 4th; U17 men: 4th; U15 girls: 4th; U13 boys: 6th; U13 girls: 7th; U11 boys: 10th; U11 girls: 9th.
Andrew McElwee was a superb one man team effort at under 20 men. His results were: 60m hurdles: 2nd in 9.43; 400m: 3rd in 54.8; 800m: 3rd in 2.06.1; high jump: 2nd in 1.80; long jump; 1st in 5.76.
