WEAR something bright for Fergie.
That’s the message going out to runners in a big charity race.
And a massive entry looks guaranteed for the Fergie MacDonald Memorial Run.
It’s just over a year since popular Fergie collapsed and died during a running trip to France.
And to remember and celebrate his life, Troon Tortoises are organising a 5K fun run.
A Tortoise spokesman said: “Fergie was often seen running through Troon in flamboyant running gear.
“So if you want to emulate the big man, wear something bright.”
Fergie, who worked for years with Scottish Mutual Assurance, was aged just 51 when he died.
His widow Janie will start the charity race at 11am, along the South Beach in Troon on Sunday, October 26.
And Fergie’s daughter Shona will present the prizes afterwards.
Race registration will be in the Walker Hall from 10am, and the £2 fee (or more as a donation) will go to Yorkhill Hospital for Sick Kids.
Fergie was a fervent supporter or Yorkhill, as he had hip operations there in childhood.
The Fergie MacDonald Memorial Run will start on the beach behind the Walker Hall, heading for the Pow Burn and back.
