TWO Ayr Seaforth girl sprinters have been selected for Scotland in the Celtic Games at Grangemouth on Saturday.
Caroline George and Rachel Whittle, both 13, will compete against Wales and Northern Ireland in the event for under 16 and under 18 teams.
The duo currently top the under 15 girls rankings in Scotland for 100 metres and 200 metres. With only one competitor per event, Caroline will compete in the 200 metres with Rachel in a guest 200 metres. Both Caroline and Rachel will also compete in the 4 x 100 metres relay for Scotland.
lSeaforth’s world masters champion Bobby Stevenson from Drybridge won the 400 metres hurdles in the European Masters in Slovenia.
His time of 61.34 secs left the field trailing in the 55/60 age category.
Bobby, 55, is now aiming towards the World Championships in Finland next year.
