Prestwick aquathlon attracts scores of youngsters to pool

A TOTAL of 38 youngsters, including nine representing Ayrodynamic Triathlon Club, took part in the club's Prestwick Aquathlon.

The Aquathlon, round five in a series of 15 races across Scotland sponsored by Mazda, took place in Prestwick swimming pool and featured a series of swim/run events of varying distances.

Rhea McTaggart, Rheanna Sloss and Andrew Rae all won their respective races for Ayrodynamic while other athletes representing the club included Cameron Auld, Siobhan Rae, Marc Auchie, Ahren McTaggart, Finlay Rae and James Elvin.

Winners: age 8, 50m swim, 600m run: Rhea McTaggart, Matthew Lawler; Age 9-10: 150m swim, 1000m run: Finna Parkinson, Ritchie Austin; Age 11-12: 250m swim, 20000m run: Keri Greig, Jack Austin; 13-14: 400m swim, 3000m run: Rheanna Sloss, Marc Austin; 15-16: 400m swim, 3000m run: Vhairi Robertson, Andrew Rae.
