Steven Wallace heads 210 strong field for Ayr Golf Week’s Tam O’Shanter tournament

A HOST of former winners are in the 215 strong field for Ayr Golf Week’s Tam O’Shanter tournament.

But last year’s champion Michael Smyth is unable to defend as he is playing in the St Andrews Links.

Among those bidding to retrace their winning footsteps are Steven Wallace, John Sloan, Craig Telfer, Gordon Boyle and Alan McLean.

Play begins at Belleisle and Seafield on Monday and continues all week.

The top 32 scratch and net go forward to matchplay on Thursday and Friday at Belleisle with the semi-finals and finals on Saturday, June 9.
