Fifty six players contest Ayrshire boys’ team championship at Ayr Dalmilling

TEAMS from 14 clubs will contest the Ayrshire Golf Association's opening event of the season, the Ayrshire Boys' Team Championship at Ayr Dalmilling on Sunday, April 15.

Fifty-six of the leading junior boys from the county will compete for the Matt Lygate Trophy (team scratch), Andrew D Nimmo Trophy (team net), Prestwick Circuits Trophy (individual scratch) and Carrick Trophy (individual net).

Kilmarnock (Barassie) will have a strong team bidding to defend theLygate Trophy but Annanhill are not defending the A.D Nimmo Trophy.

lBARASSIE'S Jack McDonald won the third Scottish Universities Order of Merit tournament at a very windy Dundonald Links.

The Stirling University student fired rounds of 73, 72, 78 for a nine over par 223 to pip Scottish international Graeme Robertson by two shots.
