AYRSHIRE lost 11½-6½ to the South of Scotland in their annual match for the Centenary salver at Stranraer on Sunday.
The 12 man team, comprising four under 16s, four under 18s and four youths shared the morning foursomes 3-3 but were soundly beaten in the afternoon singles.

lAYRSHIRE was to the fore at the 2012 Scottish Golf Awards dinner at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Glasgow.
As well as Largs' Sam Torrance receiving a lifetime achievement award, Troon Welbeck's Michael Stewart was presented with the men's amateur golfer of the year award while Kilmarnock Barassie's Euan Walker became the inaugural recipient of the Adam Hunter Award, presented in memory of the late SGU coach.
