TURNBERRY caddiemaster Kenny Macaskill pipped Ayrshire champion of champion Scott Brown to win Troon Golf Week’s Mills Quaich.
The duo must have been sick of the sight of each other after travelling together all week.
The Turnberry duo even jointly led the qualifying on 141. But it was Macaskill who held the edge in the final with a 3&1 win.
Macaskill, who is a member of the Turnberry staff golf club, beat Turnberry champ Steven Stamper 7&6 in the quarter-finals.
The Troon Rosebowl went to George Robertson (Carnwath) who beat Andy Birks (Welbeck) two up.
Alan Young (Colville Park) won the Charles Buchanan veterans shield. Best scratch was Henry Thompson (Irvine) with clubmate Gordon Clark the runner-up.
