COLIN BROWN, who was captain of Prestwick Golf Club in 2001, when it celebrated its 150th anniversary, 'drove in' as captain of The Royal And Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews in the traditional ceremony last week.
Watched by a group of R & A past captains, including fellow Prestwick member Richard Cole-Hamilton, the new captain had his golf ball teed up by R & A honorary professional Jim Farmer.
Colin's captaincy of the R & A coincides with the 150th anniversary of the first Open which was played at Prestwick on October 17, 1860.
