Patna are the Ryder champs
THE annual Ryder Cup match between Patna and Dalmellington members of Doon Valley Golf Club was won 9-7 by the Patna lads.
Results (Patna names first) fourball: J Gault & J Graham halved W Hose & R Miller; G Mitchell & M Wallace lost to C Tulip & C Pettigrew 3&2; R McGuckin & D Sutherland beat C Paterson & A Halbert 4&2; K Russell & S Rooney halved with N Mitchell & D Paterson; W Hunter & W Brown beat D Brown & D Brown jnr 2 up.
Singles: J Gault (team capt) halved with W Hose (team capt); J Graham halved with R Miller; G Mitchell lost to C Tulip 1 hole; M Wallace lost to C Pettigrew 1 hole; R McGuckin beat C Paterson 4&3; D Sutherland beat A Halbert 3&1; K Russell lost to N Mitchell 2&1; S Rooney beat D Paterson 3&2; W Hunter beat D Brown jnr 1 hole; W Brown beat D Brown two holes; M Mulholland beat M Muholland jnr 2&1.
Nearest hole prizes were won by W Hose, J Graham, C Pettigrew, J Gault, R Miller, M Wallace, R McGuckin and G Mitchell.
Club captain Robert Miller thanked all who donated prizes and reported that the real winner, by way of entry fee and raffle, was the charity bottle, for which £80 had been raised.
