Dalmilling ladies continue to raise cash

LADY golfers at a closure threatened course raised a record £1000 for the Ayrshire Hospice at their open foursomes.

Ayr Dalmilling Ladies Golf Club has continued its fund-raising efforts despite the axe hanging over it.

Club captain, Jackie Ridge, said: "For our members to remain so enthusiastic in support of their club and their fund-raising in this difficult year is commendable.

“We continue to hope there will be a future for them to play their golf at Dalmilling and they have lent their fund-raising support to the Hospice with all their hearts.

“It is inspiring that in the year we are threatened with closure our ladies have raised a record amount from their annual Hospice fund-raiser, despite all the uncertainty over the future."

The bumper cheque, from the sale of raffle tickets and a bottle stall, was presented to Anne Drennan from the Hospice. Hospice staff also sold Christmas cards on the day, raising a further £487.
