RISING Ayrshire star Steven McEwan (Caprington) is one of a nine strong pool of players sent by the Scottish Golf Union to compete in a double header.
He took part in the Portugese Amateur Championship at Triola Golf Club last weekend followed this week by the Spanish Amateur Championship at the Real Club De Golf De Sevilla.
A TOTAL 0f 39 clubs will tee off in the Ayrshire Fourball Championship.

PRESTWICK based Ross Drummond will open his 2009 European Seniors Tour challenge in the inaugural Aberdeen Brunei Senior Masters, presented by The Stapleford Forum, at The Empire Hotel & Country Club in Brunei from Friday to Sunday.
Joining Drummond in the field are Ryder Cup winning captains Bernard Gallacher and Sam Torrance and two time Major winner Sandy Lyle.
