Pamela's a leading lady

FORMER Ayrshire county player Pamela Feggans, who hails from Patna, has booked her place on the 2009 Ladies European Tour.

A final round of 76 for a 295 total in the final qualifying event in Spain secured her a top 30 finish.

The Doon Valley starlet will now be eligible to play in all the LET events in 2009.

Pamela, 26, has played the majority of her golf in America over the last few years after graduating at Florida Southern. She is one of four Scots who have earned the chance to play on all tour events.

In the final qualifying, she was three over for the four rounds, equalling her lowest score with a five under par 68 in the fourth round of pre-qualifying.

Pamela, now home in Patna with parents Campbell and Jean, will head to Spain next month for a week’s warm weather training with coach Karen Dallas.

Her first Euro event is in Turkey in May. She said: “I finished 50th in the money list on the Duramed Futures Tour last year but this is a big step-up. It’s going to be an exciting year and hopefully I can attract a sponsor to help.”
