AYRSHIRE will play host to four of the Scottish Golf Union events in 2009.
Top of the list is the Scottish Amateur Championship at Royal Troon. It will be the fifth time the event has been held at Troon, the last occasion being in 1977 when Alan Brodie won the title.
Ayrshire will also host the Boys Under 16 Championship and the Boys Under 14 Championship, both at Largs, as well as the Scottish Club Championship at Prestwick St. Nicholas.
lAYRSHIRE are through to the semi-finals of the Scottish Area Team Championships after a 7½-1½ win over Argyll & Bute at Troon Portland on Sunday.

Ayrshire team now travel to Tain for the Area Team Championship finals on October 4 and 5, their first appearance at this stage since the 1996 finals at Machrihanish. In the semis, Ayrshire will face The South of Scotland. The other tie features Renfrewshire and Lanarkshire.
lCAPRINGTON won the Under 16 Knockout Trophy, beating Ballochmyle on the countback after a 2-2 draw at Largs on Sunday. Kilmarnock (Barassie) retained the Wallace Thornton Trophy with a 3-1 win over Belleisle.
lAYRSHIRE under 18s ended their season with a 6½-1½ defeat by Renfrewshire at Irvine Ravenspark.

lTWO Ayrshire Junior League finals take place at Caprington on Sunday from 11am.
In the league championship final, West Kilbride play Largs who reached the final with a 7-5 win over St Cuthbert.
The champion of champions trophy is contested by Sean Thorburn (Belleisle) and Jamie Acheson (Routenburn).
