Turnberry golf-pro treat

TURNBERRY golf pros put on a treat for members on Saturday, with teams of four going out with a professional, who was team leader.

The winning team was led by Gerrard Duncan who had seven birdies and an eagle in his round.

He was supported by Stuart Hay, Michael Brown, Alan Forbes and Alaster Brown who all collected a mass of prizes.

The runners-up, led by Matthew Naylor, were John Broadfoot, Thea Wason, Philip Milne and Charles Tait.

In third place came Richard Hall’s team with David Lambie, Peter Wiseman, Ian Walker and Bill Tait.

Other prizes went to: John Hodge, longest drive on the 18th on the Kintyre course; Peter McKay, nearest the 6th pin; Bill Tait, nearest the 12th; and Donald Love, nearest the 16th.

Director of golf Paul Burley received a salver to mark his departure for Dubai.
