Patna golf protege Pamela’s a hit in States

PATNA golfing protege Pamela Feggans is making her mark in America.

She made her first top ten finish in the Duramed Futures Tour when she was seventh in the Louisiana Pelican Classic.

Pamela, 25, said: “I had a really good week and finished five under for the tournament. I shot a 67 (-5) in a first round full of wind and rain, which I think was to my advantage, because it was just like home.

“Then I shot 71 (-1) in the second round, and 73 (+1) in the final round.

“I was out in the last group for the weekend which was great experience, and I really got a taste of the pressure involved when leading the tournament.”

Pamela collected her biggest pay cheque yet of $1986.

After the first three tournaments, she was 20th on the money list with $3174 and fourth in the rookie of the year race.

Pamela said: “I've been working really hard on my game, and it's great to finally see some results. I get a lot of support and encouragement from my family back home, and friends at Doon Valley Golf Club.

“I'm so lucky that my parents have given me this opportunity, and I want to do my best to reach my goal of playing on the LPGA.”
