He fired rounds of 69 and 67 for an eight under par total of 136.

There are 23 counting events with the West of Scotland strokeplay and matchplay events at Ardeer, being included for the first time.
THE Ayrshire Strokeplay Championship at Prestwick Golf Club on Sunday April 20, will have a capacity field with the ballot for entries falling at the 3.2 handicap level.
Lowest handicapped entrant is former Scottish Boys Strokeplay Champion and youth cap, Steven McEwan (Caprington).
