Blame me says Cumnock boss

FURIOUS player-boss Stevie Farrell blamed himself after Cumnock crashed 3-0 to Kilbirnie in the Ardagh Cup final.

Super Jamie Longworth grabbed a hat-trick to leave the Townhead men chasing shadows on Sunday.

Farrell, who subbed himself, hit out: “We were simply not good enough and the better team won. They were better than us in every department.

“I must take responsibility as I am the manager. I got it wrong tactically.

“I took myself off because I wasn’t good enough. I should have led by example.”

Cumnock now return to league action at home to Girvan on Saturday but Farrell said there was ‘every chance’ he would drop himself for the match.
