Troon Ladies dump newcomers

TROON ladies followed up an opening day draw with a 4-0 win over league newcomers Elderslie at Portland Park.

Troon raced ahead in nine minutes when Steph McDonald flicked on a good ball to Kirsten McNab who beat her marker before firing across goal for Claire Masterton to slot home.

Two minutes later, Masterton turned home a McDonald cross. Only the keeper and the woodwork denied the hosts again before the break.

Early in the second-half, Jillian Campbell turned and rifled home a volley. New girl KJ McQuarrie wrapped up the scoring with a powerful header after a corner from captain Alison Duncan. Cheryl Low went close to a fifth.
