Auchinleck Talbot won't fail, says John

HOT boss John Redmond says Auchinleck Talbot are heading for the Scottish Cup semi-finals but reckons Irvine Meadow will need a second bite against Pollok.

Redmond, who has worked wonders at Troon, has again turned tipster to mark your card for Saturday’s last eight ties.

Here’s his big game verdicts with prices from William Hill.

Auchinleck (8/11) v Arthurlie (11/4) draw 13/5: Talbot are going great guns and are scoring goals.Arthurlie won at Whitburn and Camelon, albeit with a disputed penalty, but will find it tough at Beechwood where home advantage will take Tommy Sloan’s men through. Forecast: home.

Irvine Meadow (11/8) v Pollok (6/4) draw 23/10: some people would say this is the final that should have been. Meadow have started to win games, although only narrowly, while top of the league Pollok are also going well. I’m climbing on the heavy fence. Forecast: draw.

Petershill (4/7) v Clydebank (7/2) draw 11/4: Peasies play well on their home surface while Bankies are lucky to still be in the cup. They needed a last minute goal against ten man Carnoustie to force a replay which they won on penalties. Forecast: home.

Newtongrange (6/4) v Rob Roy (5/4) draw 13/5: Rob Roy had a great win over Petershill last weekend while Newtongrange are a big side from the east who will make home soil count. Forecast: home.

Other games: Beith (2/5) v Vale of Clyde (9/2) draw 10/3; Bellshill (5/4) v Cumnock (6/4) draw 13/5; Glenafton (4/7) v Neilston (7/2) draw 11/4.

Annbank (5/2) v Lanark (4/5) draw 5/2; Kilbirnie (4/6) v Port Glasgow (3/1) draw 13/5; Kilwinning (6/5) v East Kilbride (13/8) draw 5/2; Largs (4/11) v Hurlford (5/1) draw 7/2; Maybole (7/5) v Girvan (7/5) draw 12/5; Renfrew (13/10) v Kilsyth (6/4) draw 12/5.
