A NEW community six-a-side football league is heading to Ayr. The initiative, aimed at getting more people into regular exercise, will run every Wednesday between 7pm-9pm on the brand new 3G astroturf pitch at Belmont Academy. It kicks off on March 11.
Teams will play a half hour game each week in a league system with promotion and relegation at the end of the season. Match costs are £2.75 per player per week. Divisional winners receive Prostar strips, runners-up get trophies while there is also a top scorer competition.
The league will be affiliated to the Scottish Amateur FA with all matches being officiated by qualified SFA referees. All equipment is provided. Anyone aged 18 or over can enter.
