Amateur Football: Carrick in last 32

CARRICK Amateurs have reached the last 32 of the Scottish Amateur Cup for the first time in their history after a crushing 5-2 win over Steadfast from Bearsden.

Reid Logan, son of manager George Logan, led the way with a four goal haul. Former Dundee United youngster Stephen McCulloch scored direct from a corner and was denied another when his shot flew through a hole in the net and hit the fence behind the goal.

The manager revealed: “It was a good all round performance but the ref couldn’t give Stephen’s second goal because he never saw it.”

Next round ties are due on Saturday January 31.
