Manchester United legend heads to Ayr

THE coach billed as nurturing the greatest youth team in a generation in Europe is heading to Ayr.

Manchester United coaching legend Eric Harrison will front a free coaching development day for Ayrshire coaches.

Eric, who has spent 26 years at Old Trafford, has passed on tips to David Beckham, Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes.

He will be at Somerset Park on Sunday August 17 from 11am to 3pm for an SFA coach development day. Eric has seen and done it all, from nurturing Champions League winning players to educating a future generation of youth coaches.

On the agenda will be a whole range of different coaching practices. Although the day is primarily aimed at youth coaches, there will be something for every football coach whether involved with the tiny tots or the adult game.

There will be practical coaching demonstrations on the pitch, presentations in the function suite and a chance to ask the SFA coaches any questions. All those who attend will receive hand-outs describing all of the practices and a DVD to take home.

Coaches who want to attend this free event can download a form from www.footballcentral.org (south west) and send it in. Places allocated on a first come first served basis. Further details from 01294 317430
