A youth football treat, organised by local police for the third year, was a big winner at Prestwick Oval. Superintendent John Hazlett joined community police and coaches from Kilmarnock FC for the event which drew 80 youngsters. Under 13 winners got a week’s free coaching from Killie while there were goodie bags for the under 16s. Organisers thank Eddie Allison at Ocean Sky, Grants fruiterers and Ayrshire Housing for sponsorship.The event was part of an initiative to curb youth disorder at the Oval and included other sporting events over the summer. dmayp040708police-1
