Carrick Colts celebrate 40th anniversary

CARRICK Colts celebrated their 40th anniversary of providing football in Maybole by holding their presentation night in the Town Hall.

The club had a most successful year with their age 14s winning the West of Scotland YFL League title and adding a cup.

Two members, Christopher Brown and Blair Jardine, trained and played with the Scottish Youth FA’s national squad. The league trophy was presented to the squad by Lynn and Ronnie McBride.

Ayr United player Scott Agnew handed all club junior members with a memento of the season and presented individual trophy winners with their awards.

Trophy winners: player of the year: Age 13: William Fleming; Age 14: Mark McLeish; Age 16: Duncan Sturgeon; Age 17: Ross Knight; Age 19: Alexander Burgess.

Players’ player of the year: Age 13: Connor Andre; Age 14: Jack McClymont; Age 16: Craig McWhirter; Age 17: Ross Knight; Age 19: Billy Black.

Most improved player: Age 13: Blair Cooper; Age 14: Michael Green; Age 16: Craig McWhirter; Age 17: Nathan Soojeri; Age 19: Iain McFie.
