Troon Ladies clinch title with 100th goal
TROON ladies clinched the Third Division South title with a 1-0 win over Stenhousemuir at Ochilview on Sunday.
With Danielle Connolly playing a vital role as sweeper and keeper Fiona Reid in good form, Troon grabbed the winner in the 63rd minute when Fiona Woods played in Shawnie McGeechan.
She beat her marker and fired a powerful shot off the junction of the post and bar. Woods reacted quickest to force the ball home for the 100th goal of the season.
Troon entertain Glasgow United on Sunday (2pm).
