Troon Ladies go goal crazy
ALL-CONQUERING Troon ladies stretched their lead at the top of the league with two wins in three days.
They routed Glasgow University 8-0 last Thursday, the third home game on the trot they hit eight goals. Scorers were Shawnie McGeechan (3), Katrina Mulveny (2), Danielle Connolly (2) and Cheryl Low.
Troon followed that with a 4-1 win over East Fife on Sunday.
Gemma Canning was brought down for a third minute penalty which McGeechan converted but the Fifers quickly levelled.
A McGeechan double had Troon 3-1 up at the break and Fiona Woods had the final away with a fierce volley.
Troon can now win the league on Sunday when they visit Stenhousemuir.
