GIRVAN have named Brian McLuckie and Ernie Dawe as their new management team.
McLuckie was assistant to Billy Thomson who quit last week while veteran player Dawe steps up.
Secretary Ronnie Hutcheson said: “We’re delighted that Brian is staying and equally pleased that Ernie is going to work with him.
“Ernie has a lot of experience and is still a good player. I feel they’ll form a good team.”
Meanwhile, Thomson is favourite to replace Gary Faulds who quit at Kilwinning after failing to keep them in the First Division.
Thomson, who spent a season at Buffs as a player, said: “I’m definitely interested but at the moment everyone is putting two and two together and coming up with 100.
“It was a 37 mile journey from my home in Irvine to Girvan and I wasn’t seeing much of my two young sons.”
“I’ve had a call asking if I would be interested in the Kilwinning job which I am. Now I am just waiting to hear.”
