Last day win keeps Annbank up
ANNBANK secured their survival with a heroic last day win against Renfrew.
Michael McCann and Neil McGinn grabbed the goals that ensured safety for Steph McMillan’s men.
Bankies needed just a point from their final game but did the job in style to bag first division football next term.
McCann eased nerves with a first half header before ex-Hibs man McGinn sealed safety in the second period.
Annbank can now look forward to a local derby with Whitletts in next season’s Super League.
Elsewhere, GLENAFTON bid to save their premier league skins this week in a play-off against Lanark.
Gordon Dalziel’s side were at home on Wednesday and travel north tomorrow (Friday) for the second leg.
GIRVAN failed in their brave bid to steal Lanark’s play-off place when they could only draw 1-1 with Renfrew on Monday night.
But the result takes nothing away from a tremendous effort by Billy Thomson’s team over the course of the season.
