TROON have been urged to win their six final games and sneak a promotion place against all the odds.
The Portland Parkers kept up their incredible run by beating Muirkirk 4-1 to close the gap to four points on leaders Kello but with a game more played.
Boss John Redmond admits: “It’s not in our own hands and we need others to slip but we are capable of winning all six. We weren’t at our best to beat Muirkirk but the important thing was the win which keeps us right in it.”
Troon have still to visit Kello and have other games against Dalry (home and away), Muirkirk (away), Craigmark (away) and Irvine Vics (home).
Mark Gardner curled a 25 yard free-kick past the defensive wall to open the scoring. Then Ricky Hanvey touched home a through ball before the break.
Gordon Inglis tapped home a Steven Abbot cross and sub Jonathan Baillie headed the fourth from a Hanvey free-kick. Muirkirk had David Hart sent off but managed a consolation through Steven Nisbet’s deflected 35 yarder.
