Bodog’s Calvin Ayre promises Ayr United a promotion party

CALVIN AYRE has hailed Ayr for winning promotion and promised to throw a party to celebrate.

The billionaire backer of shirt sponsors Bodog told the Post: "Going up is a huge achievement for The Honest Men and I am thrilled for everybody involved.

“I had a pretty hefty bet on the boys going up too so I’m happy to pay."

Canadian born Calvin, the founder of the world’s biggest online betting brand, has vowed to treat the team in style after their play-off win over Brechin.

He pledged: “I’ll lay on a proper party for the boys and the backroom staff to say thanks for a job well done. Champagne, three-course dinner and a drink or two on me.”
